Membership
Campaign Begins
It
is time once again for the Mission Bend Elementary PTA membership
drive. Our theme this year is "Jump on the Expressway with
Mission Bend Elementary ... On the Move". The PTA is committed
to helping parents understand the importance of supporting their
children in school activites, and encouraging parents and community
members to stay informed about education issues concerning our school.
Dues
News
This year membership
dues will stay the same as last year. The dues are $6.00 per member
and the dues breakdown as: $1.75 for National, $1.25 for State and
$3.00 for the school.
Programs
Our programs
for the 2003-2004 school year include field trips (Carol's Country
Farm, Museum of Natural Science, etc.) and cultural arts programs
(Nutcracker, Houston Symphony, Young Audiences, etc.). Plus, Behavior
Bonanza twice a year, team funding, Talent Night, Spring Fling and,
of course, Spirit Days every other Friday.
Membership
Myths
In
the past I have heard many parents voice their concerns over being
recruited to volunteer at the school once they join the PTA. Although
the PTA encourages and depends on it's parent volunteers, only
those people who join the Volunteer Program through our Volunteer
Chairman will be called upon to volunteer.
We
Invite You to Join
With your support
we can continue to provide a positive learning environment for all
MBE students. It is our goal to support all of our children, and
keep parents and community involved in the learning process.
Return
Your Envelope!
To
join, simply complete the information needed on the envelope,
being sure you include all your children who are students
of MBE. They will all get credit for your membership. Enclose $6.00
for each member, NOT each child. Return the envelope to your child's
teacher. Dues must be received no later than October 10. All classes
acheiving 80% membership participation will receive free snow cones
and all classes acheiving 100% membership participation will receive
a pizza party.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU TO MBE PTA!!!
PTA
General Meetings
The Mission
Bend PTA General Assembly Meetings are the second Tuesday of each
month. PTA is an important link in the education of your children.
We encourage you to attend the meeting and to become involved in
one or more of many volunteer opportunities.
