Dear Heavenly Father,

We are still in shock and sorrow over the tragedy of Tuesday. Father, give us strength for today. Help us to encourage one another and reach out to each other in Your love.

Father, give wisdom and counsel to our President & our leaders. Please bring Your comforting peace through the power of Your Holy Spirit to each person in our Government.

Father, comfort those in sorrow; heal those injured; give wisdom to doctors, nurses, and medical people treating the injured; be with those alive and remaining in the building

collapse and surround them with Your presence, love and comfort until they are rescued; give strength, courage and endurance to the rescuers; and please protect us all from any farther attack from our enemies.

Father, You remain in control of our world. Please bring to justice those responsible for this terrorist act. May Your will be done now!

Father, thank you for each person who reads this prayer. Prayer is the best avenue we have because You always hear us and we know our answer is already forthcoming.

Father, we love You and thank You for this privilege to come before You today. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. AMEN

May God Bless America!

Come To Me

God saw you were getting tired,
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

FIREMANS PRAYER

When I'm called to duty, God, where the flames may rage,
Give me strength to save some lives.
Help me embrace a little child before it is too late,
Or save some old person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and effectively to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and give the best in me,
To guard my every neighbor and protect his property.
And according to your will, if I have to loose my life,
Please bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife.
AMEN

We Are Americans

  • You thought we’d lose our faith in God,
but our faith has become stronger.
  • You thought you’d frighten us,
but surprisingly, we are not scared.
  • You thought you’d weaken our economy,
but our economy is still strong.
  • You thought you’d bring us to our knees,
but we are still standing tall.
  • You thought we’d abandon our family and friends,
but our relationships have only grown stronger.
  • You thought we’d turn our backs to those in need,
but we’ve never wanted to help more.
  • You thought we’d hate being Americans,
    but you’re wrong.
  • We are proud to be Americans.
    Proud to stand as One.

There are so many things on earth
We simply can't explain ...

Why some of us are taken
While the rest of us remain.

But till the day we see the Lord
And He makes all things clear,

We must find comfort knowing
That His love is ever near.

I Needed The Quiet

I needed the quiet, so He drew me aside,
Into the shadows where we could confide,
Away from the bustle where all the day long,
I hurried and worried when active and strong.

I needed the quiet though at first I rebelled,
But gently, so gently, my cross He upheld,
And whispered so sweetly of spiritual things,
Though weakened in body, my spirit took wings,
To heights never dreamed of when active and gay,
He loved me so greatly He drew me away.

I needed the quiet, No prison my bed,
But a beautiful valley of blessings instead ...
A place to grow richer in Jesus to hide,
I needed the quiet, so He drew me aside.

PSALM 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow
      of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
      of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days
      of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever

I have found myself praying more this week than ever before in my life. I have prayed for those lost last week, and for the families who lost loved ones. My heart and prayers go out to all of the heroes that put their lives on the line to save anybody they could. I am so very proud of how this country has united. I am proud to be an American. God Bless the victims, heroes, and families-my heart and prayers are with you. God Bless America! All my Love from California, Virginia L. Garant

We do not understand
Joy...until we face sorrow.
Faith...until it is tested.
Peace..until faced with conflict.
Trust...until we are betrayed
Hope...until confronted with doubts.

May you be comforted in knowing that
so many everywhere grieve with you.
May God lay His Hand upon your shoulders.

We who are left how shall we look again
Happily on the sun or feel the rain
Without remembering how they who went
Ungrudgingly and spent
Their lives for us loved, too, the sun and rain?

Where is Holiness?

There is holiness when we strive to be true to the best we know.
There is holiness when we are kind to someone who cannot possibly be of service to us.
There is holiness when we promote family harmony.
There is holiness when we forget what divides us and remember what unites us.
There is holiness when we are willing to be laughed at for what we believe in.
There is holiness when we love-truly, honestly, and unselfishly.
There is holiness when we remember the lonely and bring cheer into a dark corner.
There is holiness when we share-our bread, our ideas, our enthusiasms.
There is holiness when we gather to pray to Him who gave us the power to pray.
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts; all of life can be filled with His glory.
